Tomas Ericsson is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of amra, the global digital collection society, after more than a decade in the role, effective 1 January 2027. He will transition to Chairman of the Board, while Robin Davies, amra's Chief Operating Officer, will assume the CEO position on the same date. The leadership change comes as amra operates under new ownership following Primary Wave Music's acquisition of Kobalt from Francisco Partners in a deal valued at approximately USD $1.5 billion, which closed in July 2026.

Ericsson joined Kobalt in 2013 and has led amra's remarkable growth, with gross collections expanding from a seven-figure sum in 2014 to well into nine figures by 2026, serving more than 45 publishers globally. The company operates digital rights licensing across more than 200 territories outside the United States, with direct digital collections in markets including Southeast Asia, India, Australia, Brazil, and Japan. Davies, who has been with amra and Kobalt for a decade, is positioned to continue this growth trajectory, with executives expressing confidence in both his leadership capabilities and Ericsson's ongoing contribution as Chairman.
