Prime Video’s YA drama “Sterling Point” has become the streamer’s most-watched series worldwide since its 5 August debut, according to Amazon. Its success is significant for LuckyChap TV, demonstrating the production company’s ability to extend its film reputation into popular television with a character-led story focused on grief, identity and family secrets.

Created by Megan Park, the series follows 17-year-old Annie Jacobson, who travels from New York to Muskoka, Canada, after inheriting an island with her twin brother. There she meets Ramona, a guarded girl who resembles Annie’s late mother and claims the same grandfather, setting up a summer story involving a growing sisterly bond, romantic complications and revelations about their family. LuckyChap’s television head Dani Gorin said the response was gratifying because the team hoped audiences would recognise themselves in the characters and themes.
