Towards Zero, an Agatha Christie adaptation based on her 1944 novel, was released on BritBox in April 2025 as a three-part miniseries featuring Emmy-winning actor Matthew Rhys. Though Rhys recently made headlines by winning two Emmy awards in the same year for different roles, Towards Zero has received far less attention and acclaim than his Emmy-winning shows. The series deserves greater recognition due to its impressive ensemble cast and its compelling murder mystery narrative.

The story centres on tennis champion Neville Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), who arrives at his aunt's seaside mansion, Gull's Point, alongside his new wife Kay Elliott (Mimi Keene) following a scandalous affair and divorce. Rhys plays Inspector Leach, investigating the murder that occurs during their stay whilst the narrative traces the crime's origins to its "point zero." The cast includes acclaimed performers such as Anjelica Huston, who delivers a commanding performance as Camilla, Lady Tresselian, with critics particularly praising the chemistry between Jackson-Cohen and Ella Lily Hyland as the complicated Stranges.
