A 17-year-old fleeing police in New Hampshire crashed through the perimeter fence of Portsmouth International Airport, ploughing across the aircraft apron before striking a tractor and a parked plane. The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, raises fresh questions about airport perimeter security after a state trooper's attempted traffic stop escalated into a breach of restricted airfield grounds.

New Hampshire State Police said the driver, Wyatt Seely of Rochester, fled after a trooper tried to stop his black 2008 Ford Mustang, which had its lights off, on Durham Street in Portsmouth shortly after 8pm. The car smashed through the fence, hit a Kubota tractor and an unoccupied stationary aircraft before stopping; Seely was found intoxicated, taken to hospital for evaluation, and no one else was hurt. He faces charges including driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, disobeying a police officer, conduct after an accident and reckless driving, with an arraignment scheduled for 9 September 2026.
