Alan Ritchson Beats Out Tough Competition to Keep His Global Streaming Top Spot
Alan Ritchson's Reacher has returned to the top of Prime Video's streaming charts with the launch of Season 4, fending off stiff competition to reclaim its status as the platform's most-watched series in both the US and worldwide. The comeback comes as Amazon continues its high-profile, "methodical" search for a new James Bond, following its $1 billion acquisition of the franchise, meaning Ritchson currently remains the platform's most prominent action star while names such as Henry Cavill, Jack Lowden and Callum Turner are floated for 007.
Season 4 opened with the episode "City of Brotherly Love," directed by Sam Hill and written by Nick Santora, following a particularly punishing third season. The new run promises around 30 fight sequences across eight episodes and adds cast members including Christopher Marquette, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Corrigan, Sydelle Noel and Marc Blucas. Producer Amy Pascal has said Bond casting should be finalised before the end of the year, but until then Reacher continues to anchor Prime Video's action slate.
