Alan Ritchson has spoken publicly for the first time about the viral altercation with a neighbour outside his Tennessee home, describing it as the "scariest" and most "terrified" he has ever felt, partly out of fear it could end his career. Speaking on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, the Reacher star was promoting his new film Motor City and the show's upcoming season when he addressed the March incident, in which local police found he had acted in self-defence and declined to press charges.

The clash occurred in Brentwood, near Nashville, when neighbour Ronnie Taylor confronted Ritchson as he rode his motorcycle with his sons, then shoved him twice, prompting the actor to fall, get injured and retaliate. Ritchson disputed Taylor's TMZ claim that they had spoken the previous day, insisting they had never met before, and credited a body camera he happened to be wearing for the first time with proving his account and preventing his arrest. He also revealed a lasting consequence: his sons are now reluctant to ride motorcycles with him.
