Alan Ritchson Will Officially Move On From ‘Reacher’ in 2 Weeks
Alan Ritchson will make his return to cinemas on 11 September in the action-thriller "Runner", co-starring Owen Wilson, marking a departure from his Jack Reacher persona even as Prime Video's Reacher continues. The release lands just five days before Season 4 of Reacher concludes, giving Ritchson an unusually busy few weeks that underline his growing standing as a Hollywood action star beyond the Reacher franchise.
Directed by Scott Waugh (Need for Speed, Expend4bles) and distributed by Angel Studios, the PG-13, 97-minute film sees Ritchson play a former soldier whose medical delivery mission with an unlikely partner (Wilson) draws the pursuit of a ruthless cartel. Ritchson also produced the film, which marks a shift for Angel Studios towards action-comedy after his earlier faith-based drama with the studio, Ordinary Angels. Reacher Season 4 ends on 16 September, the same day the spin-off Neagley premieres with Ritchson also appearing, and he is set to star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Prime Video's forthcoming holiday comedy, The Man with the Bag.
