- Her Senate contest with Dan Sullivan is rated a toss-up.

## Summary

Alaska Democrat Mary Peltola and members of her family sustained minor injuries when another driver struck their car as they travelled to a banquet. The crash has led her to postpone campaign events in Fairbanks and Bethel, disrupting the start of her tour in a close Senate race just over a week before the midterm elections.

Peltola is challenging Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan, and the Cook Political Report rates the contest a toss-up. Her campaign says the two postponed stops will be rescheduled later in the week and the rest of the tour will proceed as planned, following medical advice. The article also describes intense campaigning and a dispute over election certification, as well as criticism of Peltola’s record of missed votes.
