## Key points

- An Alaska voter switched from considering Peltola to backing Dan Sullivan.
- The reported plan involved a candidate with a similar name.
- Peltola denied knowing about or taking part in the alleged scheme.

## Summary

An Alaska voter told Fox News he had switched from considering Mary Peltola to voting for incumbent Republican senator Dan Sullivan after reading a report about an alleged effort to recruit a candidate with a similar name. He said the reported scheme made him feel “disgusted” and raised concerns about the fairness of the Senate race.

The contest uses ranked-choice voting, and Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. was reportedly recruited to run against Daniel S. Sullivan. Peltola denied knowing about or being involved in the alleged scheme, saying she was not interested in tricking voters. The unnamed voter and a woman with him said they would both vote for the incumbent; Donald Trump has also backed Sullivan.
