Alex Warren’s ‘WILDCHILD’ Debuts at No. 1 on 2 Billboard Album Charts
Alex Warren's second studio album, WILDCHILD, has debuted at No. 1 on two Billboard charts, Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums, marking his first leaders on either ranking. The album also entered at No. 2 on the flagship Billboard 200, his highest chart placement and second top 10, and made its first appearance on the Indie Store Album Sales chart at No. 9, underlining the singer-songwriter's growing commercial pull following the success of his debut album and its chart-topping single "Ordinary".
WILDCHILD earned 75,000 equivalent album units in its first week, ending 3 September, according to Luminate, Warren's best week yet by units, with 55,000 of those from album sales, also a personal best. The strong sales were driven by an extensive range of formats, including 13 vinyl variants, five CD editions and three download versions, several featuring bonus content or signed copies. The album followed three prior Hot 100 entries for Warren and lands in a competitive week atop the Top Album Sales chart, which also features new releases from The Warning, Billy Strings, Sara Bareilles, Mastodon and Prince.
