## Key points

- Three brothers received 30-year federal prison sentences.
- The judge said their denials showed little remorse.
- Twelve women described lasting effects of the abuse.

## Summary

Tal, Oren and Alon Alexander were each sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for sex trafficking crimes, after a Manhattan judge rejected prosecutors’ requests for life sentences. At sentencing, the brothers denied raping or drugging their accusers, while Judge Valerie Caproni said their continued denials showed a lack of remorse and undermined claims that they had changed.

Twelve women described the lasting effects of the brothers’ abuse, including nightmares, damaged relationships and struggles to feel safe. The judge also disclosed that Tal and Alon had been assaulted in prison and that Oren had faced discipline for possessing a mobile phone; each brother received 10 years of supervised release after prison.
