Sacha Baron Cohen is bringing back his Ali G character for a new feature film, Ali G: Who Iz I?, with a trailer released online showing the west Staines rudeboy pranking fresh targets after two decades away. The character, first seen on British television in 1998, became famous for wrong-footing unsuspecting public figures, and this revival adds new victims to that history while also addressing his girlfriend Julie's pregnancy and his bemused take on recent world events.

The trailer shows pranks played on retired US army general Stewart Rodeheaver and a figure who may be DJ Deadmau5, continuing a tradition that previously saw Ali G quiz Buzz Aldrin about walking on the sun and pitch "ice-cream gloves" to Donald Trump. It is the fifth film to feature characters from Da Ali G Show, following 2002's Ali G Indahouse and the hugely successful Borat films, despite Baron Cohen having declared the characters retired back in 2007. Ali G: Who Iz I? is due in cinemas on 23 October.
