FX's sci-fi series Alien: Earth has begun filming its second season in London, with Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell and Jerome Flynn joining the cast. The additions signal that the show, created by Noah Hawley, is pressing ahead following a first season that ended on a cliffhanger, expanding an already large ensemble.

The three newcomers join returning cast including Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant and Essie Davis, as well as fellow season-two addition Peter Dinklage. Their roles have not been disclosed and plot details remain scarce. Spruell has worked with Hawley before on Fargo's fifth season, while Ullman's recent credits include Ted Lasso and Elsbeth, and Flynn is known for Game of Thrones and 1923. Hawley has previously indicated the finale deliberately left threads open, with "Yutani troops" landing and the balance of power shifting.
