## Key points

- A physical PS5 edition may suggest a 2027 release.
- Alien: Isolation 2 has no confirmed launch date.
- Sony is expected to stop disc production in January 2028.

## Summary

The article adds no new confirmed release date for Alien: Isolation 2, but argues that its promised physical disc release may point to a 2027 PS5 launch. That is an inference, not an announcement, and the timing matters because Sony is expected to stop manufacturing games on disc in January 2028.

The developers have said that staying true to Alien’s analogue character is a core principle, which the article sees as supporting a boxed release before Sony’s deadline. Physical editions on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S could still be possible after that date, and development plans may change; the article also notes that the market for physical games is shrinking.
