Alisa Bowen Exits as Disney+ President to Become CEO of Disney-Controlled Fubo TV Streamer
Alisa Bowen, who has been president of Disney+ since September 2022, is stepping down to become chief executive of Fubo, the internet TV streaming service in which Disney holds a majority stake. The move, announced by Fubo's board on Thursday and effective 10 July, matters because it places a senior Disney streaming veteran at the helm of a company Disney now controls, underscoring how closely Fubo's future is tied to Disney's wider direct-to-consumer strategy.
Bowen succeeds David Gandler, Fubo's co-founder, who led the firm for more than a decade and is also leaving its board. The appointment follows the completion last autumn of a deal merging Disney's Hulu + Live TV operations into Fubo, giving Disney a 70% stake. Disney may not name a direct replacement at Disney+, which now sits within a unified streaming business run by co-presidents Joe Earley and Adam Smith. Bowen, 53, will earn a base salary of $1.575 million plus bonuses and substantial equity awards, and is expected to join Fubo's board after its annual meeting on 28 July.
