Alma Har’el’s new family drama, Wet, is being presented to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival market by international sales company 193. Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, Connor Storrie and Odessa A’zion are in early discussions to join the film, although none has signed; the prospective cast could make the project especially attractive to distributors.

Har’el co-wrote the original screenplay with Christian Stangeby, with its tone described as resembling Succession and Triangle of Sadness. Fifth Season is expected to finance and produce alongside Chris Leggett, Riva Marker and Har’el, while filming is hoped to begin in Spain early next year; Har’el previously directed Honey Boy in 2019.
