Aly & AJ have cancelled their planned November and December tour dates after Aly Michalka accepted a Broadway role in & Juliet. Michalka will make her Broadway debut as Anne Hathaway, William Shakespeare’s wife, describing the opportunity as one she could not pass up; the cancellation affects fans who had arranged travel and attendance for the shows.

The cancelled run was due to begin on 28 November in Cincinnati and end on 19 December in Anaheim, covering 14 US cities including Louisville, Indianapolis, Albuquerque and Tucson. To compensate disappointed fans, the duo released an unreleased live album free to stream or download, while supporters offered congratulations alongside disappointment online.
