Amazon MGM Developing Romance Series ‘House Of Crowns’ Based On Forthcoming Anna Todd Novel

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Amazon MGM Studios is developing House of Crowns, a television series based on an upcoming, as-yet-unpublished romance novel by bestselling author Anna Todd, according to Deadline sources. The project deepens the studio's ties with Todd, best known for her After franchise, and marks her first move into television after a career built on books and film adaptations.

The novel is set at an elite Swiss boarding school for the children of royalty and world leaders, centring on a forbidden romance between a scholarship student and a wealthy heiress with dark secrets. Elinor Cook (Killing Eve, The Essex Serpent) has been brought on to adapt the book, while Todd will serve as executive producer; producers are expected to include Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay of Ethea Entertainment, Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin, and Will Gould of Moonage Pictures, though this remains unconfirmed. The series was reportedly bought preemptively by Amazon executives Nicole Clemens and Gemma Brandler, and comes as Todd continues her expansion into screen projects, including the forthcoming Prime Video film The Last Sunrise, premiering 26 August.
