Deadline · 3 hours ago

Amazon MGM Studios' UK division has put a new London-set crime drama, Capital, into development, with filmmaker Guy Ritchie attached to co-write, co-create, direct and produce. The move marks Ritchie's second series for Amazon following the success of Young Sherlock, and signals the studio's continued investment in British drama.

Ritchie is co-writing and co-creating Capital with Rob Williams, whose credits include the BBC's The Victim, Netflix's The Witness and Apple TV's Suspicion. The series, described as exploring the underbelly of modern-day London, is at an early stage with no casting announced. Vice Studios is producing alongside Marc Resteghini's Jack Tar Pictures, while Ritchie's regular collaborators, including Ivan Atkinson, serve as executive producers. The project follows Young Sherlock, which topped Prime Video charts in 95 countries and reached 45 million viewers, becoming one of the platform's top 10 originals.
