AMC Theatres Sets Dolly Parton Retrospective With ‘Steel Magnolias’ and ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’

AMC Theatres will screen “Steel Magnolias” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” in tribute to Dolly Parton following her death aged 80. The retrospective recognises Parton’s significant film career alongside her better-known achievements as a country music performer.

From Friday 28 August until 2 September, around 200 US AMC locations, including cinemas in Tennessee, will offer two daily matinee screenings at AMC Fan Faves prices. Parton received Golden Globe acting nominations for both “9 to 5” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, while “Steel Magnolias” showcased her in an ensemble alongside Sally Field, Julia Roberts and Shirley MacLaine.
