## Summary

Andy Burnham said politicians can “spot faithfuls and traitors a mile off” as he prepares to appear on a charity edition of Gogglebox. The appearance is intended to support Stand Up To Cancer, and Burnham said humour can help him connect with people and encourage viewers to donate.

Burnham will watch television with Liverpool City Region mayor Steve Rotheram in the special programme. He praised The Celebrity Traitors and British broadcasting, and said he made “no apology” for leading with lightness at times. Nigel Farage, who appeared on a Gogglebox spin-off in 2014, would be happy to take part again, a Reform UK spokesman said.
