Celebrity Cruises has increased its automatic daily gratuity charges, prompting criticism from passengers who say the change was introduced with little warning. Some guests have said they may remove the automatic fees and instead give cash tips directly to crew members, raising concerns about how the policy could affect staff pay.

From 29 July, passengers who have not prepaid gratuities are charged between $19.50 and $24.50 per person per day, depending on their cabin category. The increase applies automatically, and the backlash reflects wider frustration among travellers over extra charges added to cruise holidays.
