Anker has unveiled the Eufy MindBase, a local AI hub for its home security cameras that runs an on-device large language model, allowing footage to be processed without ever leaving the household network. Unveiled alongside several other smart home security products at the IFA tech show in Berlin, the MindBase is being pitched by Anker as a broader "central brain for the home" that will eventually extend beyond security to manage energy usage and robot vacuums, though pricing and a release date have not yet been announced. The launch is notable given Eufy's past controversy over inaccurate claims about end-to-end encryption, with the company now emphasising local storage and on-device processing.

The MindBase acts as a Matter 1.5 controller supporting over 40 device categories, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Zigbee, and integrates with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Home Assistant. It can handle 16 wireless and four wired cameras plus 34 sensors, offers up to 48TB of storage, and uses a dedicated AI chip for natural-language search and facial recognition without a subscription fee. Anker also announced the TrackLight Cam S1, a wired Eufy S4 video doorbell (£299.99/$299.99) with panoramic VR-style viewing, and a $70 indoor window camera called the E10 launching later this year.
