Deadline · 2 hours ago

20th Century Studios has cast Anna Baryshnikov and Sofia Wylie in its sequel to the 1997 cult comedy "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion," rounding out the cast for the film currently shooting in Los Angeles. The project reunites original stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino, and marks another collaboration between director Tim Federle and Wylie, who previously worked together on "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series." The sequel will stream as a Hulu Original in the US, though character and plot details remain undisclosed.

Alongside Baryshnikov and Wylie, returning cast members include Alan Cumming, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim and Julia Campbell, with new additions Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Huebel, Breckin Meyer, Patrick Warburton and Nathan Lee Graham. Federle directs from a script by Robin Schiff, who wrote the original film, with Laurence Mark also producing and Sorvino, Kudrow and Schiff among the executive producers. Filming began in June, and both new cast members bring recent credits — Baryshnikov from "Idiotka" and Apple's "Cape Fear," Wylie from "The Map That Leads to You" and Netflix's upcoming "The Body."
