Actress Annette Bening has drawn a comparison between her two recent television roles, explaining that Priscilla Masterson, the mob boss she plays in Apple TV's crime thriller "Lucky", is a darker character than Beulah Jackson, her role in Paramount+'s "Yellowstone" spin-off "Dutton Ranch". Speaking to Collider ahead of the "Lucky" premiere, Bening said the distinction lies in morality: while Beulah is "off the rails" but ultimately tries to do the right thing, she considers Priscilla to be "really sociopathic" despite believing herself justified.

Bening noted she took on the role of Priscilla before being cast as Beulah, and found playing a character devoid of a "moral core" strangely enjoyable, likening it to living out choices she would never make in real life. She also discussed her on-screen chemistry with co-star Timothy Olyphant, whose character shares a history with Priscilla, and touched on Priscilla's complicated relationship with Wayne, played by William Fichtner.
