Several websites associated with Portland’s Rose City Antifa and the abortion-rights group Jane’s Revenge became unavailable after the US State Department designated their Italian technology provider, Autistici/Inventati (A/I), as a global terrorist entity. The designation matters because it restricts US financial dealings with A/I and may disrupt communications, hosting and anonymity tools used by groups accused by officials of supporting violent activity.

The State Department said A/I provided encrypted communications, web hosting and other services to violent left-wing networks in the US and Europe, and alleged that Rose City Antifa used one affected site to target federal personnel and encourage action against border-enforcement helicopters. It also said Jane’s Revenge used A/I services to claim responsibility for attacks including the May 2022 firebombing of a Madison, Wisconsin, crisis pregnancy centre; A/I denied the allegations, describing itself as a volunteer-run collective offering digital self-defence tools. The government has not said whether any US agency directly caused the outages, while A/I-hosted NoBlogs pages were reported as only intermittently accessible.
