The Community Security Trust (CST) recorded 95 antisemitic incidents affecting Jewish students or university staff in the UK in the 2025–26 academic year, a 14 per cent rise on the previous year. It says reports remain significantly above the pre-7 October 2023 level, raising concerns about Jewish people’s safety and experience on campus.

Most reported incidents involved abusive behaviour. The CST also noted two incidents of extreme violence in 2024–25, in Edinburgh and Leeds, and said university staff were responsible for 16 incidents over the past two years. Reports peaked at 272 in 2023–24, compared with 53 in 2022–23; the CST urged universities to distinguish antisemitism from criticism of Israel and enforce that distinction, while government and university representatives called for stronger responses and disciplinary processes.
