Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli won the Belgian Grand Prix to rebuild his championship lead, after fighting back from losing track position during a virtual safety-car period to overtake Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Team-mate George Russell's race, and title bid, suffered a fresh setback when he was collected by Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton in a first-lap incident and spun out, dropping him to third in the standings.

Antonelli controlled the race from pole before the VSC allowed Leclerc a cut-price pit stop that put him ahead, but Antonelli reeled the Ferrari in and passed it on the Kemmel straight on lap 34 of 44 to secure his sixth win in ten races. Hamilton's fourth-place finish lifted him back to second in the championship, five points clear of Russell, who is now 50 points behind Antonelli; Red Bull's Max Verstappen completed the podium. Russell described the collision as a "racing incident" and said he would not blame Hamilton.
