Antonio Banderas Joins Nicolas Cage In ‘True Detective’ Season 5

Antonio Banderas has joined Nicolas Cage in the fifth season of HBO’s anthology drama *True Detective*. The casting begins to fill out a new story led by Issa López, with filming expected to start in 2027.

Cage will play Henry Logan and Banderas will play Rai Garcia, in a season set in Jamaica Bay, New York. López, who led season four, *Night Country*, is returning as writer, director and showrunner; she has also said the new story will have important connections to events in Alaska, while introducing new characters.
