## Summary

Antonio Banderas’s 1998 adventure film *The Mask of Zorro* is back on free streaming on Pluto. Its masked-hero story, energetic sword fights and romantic chemistry give it some of the swashbuckling appeal associated with *The Mummy*, while the film also helped establish Banderas as a Hollywood leading man.

Set in 19th-century California, the film follows outlaw Alejandro Murrieta, trained by the imprisoned Zorro, Don Diego de la Vega, to take on corrupt officials. Banderas stars alongside Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones, with Martin Campbell directing; the film later inspired aspects of Banderas’s Puss in Boots character and spawned a 2005 sequel.
