Julia Garner to star in new Apple TV true-crime drama adaptation

Collider · 2 months ago

Apple TV has officially ordered a new true-crime drama series titled Guilty Creatures, with Emmy winner Julia Garner set to star and executive-produce. Garner, best known for the Netflix series Ozark, will reunite with director Craig Gillespie, whose recent DCU film Supergirl underperformed at the box office. The commission marks another significant television project for the actor, whose profile has risen through recent film roles.

The series adapts Mikita Brottman's acclaimed true-crime book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida, with Stuart Zicherman serving as showrunner and executive producer. It is produced by Tomorrow Studios, an ITV Studios partner, and developed via first-look deals with Garner's Alma Margo and Gillespie's Fortunate Jack Productions. Garner has several other projects in the pipeline, including Netflix's limited series The Altruists alongside Anthony Boyle, the Amazon MGM Studios film Tyrant opposite Charlize Theron, and an appearance in the upcoming season of Apple TV's The Studio.
