Apple TV’s ‘Dark Matter’ Stars React to Season 2’s Shocking Sci-Fi Death
Apple TV’s Dark Matter returns for its second series with a violent opening: Daniela Dessen shoots and kills one of the many alternate Jasons who have entered her family’s reality. Jennifer Connelly says the act leaves Daniela guilty, confused and emotionally destabilised, forcing the Dessen family to abandon yet another life and straining their relationships as they seek a safe place in the multiverse.
The new series follows Jason, Daniela and their son Charlie after their reunion at the end of the first series, as multiple versions of Jason complicate their attempt to settle. Joel Edgerton says the season explores individual alternate Jasons, including one who must confront life without the family he failed to regain, while retaining the programme’s themes of rebuilding and moving on.
- Daniela kills an alternate Jason in the series premiere.
- The Dessen family must flee and start again.
- Series two explores the fates of multiple Jasons.
