Apple TV's sci-fi drama Severance has hit a major viewership milestone in the United States, cementing its status as the streamer's flagship series. Created by Dan Erickson and executive-produced by Ben Stiller, the show launched in 2022 and returned for a widely praised second season in 2025, helping to raise the profile of star Adam Scott, who is also currently drawing attention for the Netflix thriller The Whisper Man and the horror film Hokum.

Severance's first season holds a "Certified Fresh" 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the second season close behind at 94%, and the show has amassed more than 40 Emmy nominations across its two seasons.
