Apple TV has confirmed the release date for Brothers, a new comedy series that reunites Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, the acclaimed lead pairing from the first season of HBO's True Detective. The two actors, whose portrayal of detectives Hart and Cohle in 2014 is widely regarded as the show's finest duo, will star together again more than a decade later, making the announcement notable for fans of the original series.

The eight-episode first season plays on a real-life curiosity: the long-time friends have speculated that they may actually be related, though no genetic link has ever been confirmed.
