Nocturne: Stephen Graham’s Apple TV thriller lands October 2026 launch date

The Hollywood Reporter · 9 hours ago

Apple TV has confirmed a launch date and a new title for Stephen Graham's forthcoming drama, which was previously known as Lazarus and will now be called Nocturne. The 10-episode limited series will premiere globally on 30 October 2026, with two episodes released at launch and the remaining eight arriving each Friday through to Christmas. The announcement is notable given Graham's recent success, having swept last year's Emmy Awards with eight wins, including best limited series, for Adolescence.

Nocturne, written by Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin and adapted from the 2018 Lars Kepler novel Lazarus, stars Liev Schreiber as Jonah Lynn, a former soldier and homicide detective who relocates to small-town Western Pennsylvania for a quieter life. His world is upended when a cunning serial killer, Jurek Walter (played by Graham), threatens his town and family. Zazie Beetz co-stars as FBI agent Saga Bauer, alongside Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr. Tim Van Patten directs the opening two episodes, with Hlavin serving as showrunner and the series produced by A+E Studios in association with Range Studios.

  • Stephen Graham's Apple TV series, formerly Lazarus, is renamed Nocturne.
  • It premieres globally on 30 October 2026, with weekly episodes until Christmas.
  • Graham plays serial killer Jurek Walter opposite Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz.
