Apple’s entry-level MacBook Pro could be up for a redesign

The Verge · 2 months ago

Apple is preparing a modernised version of its entry-level MacBook Pro slated for the first half of 2027, which will retain the 14-inch display but adopt visual design elements aligned with the company's forthcoming touchscreen laptop models. Those touchscreen devices are expected to debut between late 2026 and early 2027 with a Dynamic Island-inspired notch at the top.

Simultaneously, Apple is testing four new iPad Pro variants for spring launch, concentrating on internal performance improvements whilst preserving the existing 11-inch and 13-inch screen options. The company's silicon roadmap includes an M6 processor arriving later this year in a current-generation base MacBook Pro, with the M7 generation scheduled for 2027 across its laptop portfolio.
