Apple has released iOS 27.0.1, a bug-fix update that addresses several issues affecting iPhone 18 Pro models. The most significant fix resolves a problem where devices would restart unexpectedly when Face ID failed to authenticate, a fault that Apple confirmed in September was affecting new iPhone 18 Pro users, with some customers even requiring device replacements.

Beyond the Face ID issue, iOS 27.0.1 fixes a colour artefact that appeared in photos taken at 2x zoom on iPhone 18 Pro models and resolves an unresponsiveness glitch that occurred when opening the Notification Centre and Control Centre simultaneously. The update began rolling out on Monday and is available to all users; those on older iOS 26 can also access the iOS 26.7 security patch, though upgrading to iOS 27.0.1 provides access to new features such as Siri AI and Liquid Glass enhancements.
