NewJeans' label, ADOR (a HYBE imprint), has released a series of short "commemorative" videos featuring four of the group's five members to mark the fourth anniversary of the K-pop act's debut, ending months of silence since the group announced a hiatus in 2025. The move follows a turbulent two years for the band, involving a bitter dispute with their label, a failed attempt to rebrand as NJZ, and a court ruling that blocked members from signing individual contracts, so the release has prompted speculation about whether NewJeans are truly returning, though ADOR says specific plans are still being finalised.

The four remaining members featured are Hyein, Haerin, Hanni and Minji; a fifth, Danielle, left ADOR acrimoniously late last year. NewJeans debuted in 2022 under producer Min-Hee Jin and quickly became one of the decade's biggest K-pop acts, topping the Billboard 200 with their Get Up EP and breaking streaming records, before a 2024 dispute over Min's removal as ADOR chief executive led the group to publicly accuse the label of mistreatment. Their bid to rename themselves NJZ was rejected by a South Korean court, and the group went on hiatus in March 2025, saying it was "not an easy decision".
