It also means she is withdrawing from the West End revival of Sunday in the Park With George, in which she had been due to star opposite Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.

Grande's representative told People that she "looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note" before taking "a much-deserved break" from public-facing work. The singer herself has not directly addressed the break, instead posting messages telling fans she "cannot wait" to see them at her Chicago shows. The Sunday in the Park With George production confirmed her role will be recast, adding that it "understood and supported" her decision, with the show still set to open at the Barbican in summer 2027. Grande's new album Petal, featuring 12 tracks including the Hot 100 number one "Hate That I Made You Love Me", was released alongside the controversial music video that appeared to reflect on her fraught relationship with public criticism.
