Officers say the children's welfare was put at serious risk, as such temperatures can quickly lead to heatstroke or other heat-related illness in young children, particularly when their carers' judgement is impaired by alcohol.

According to the report, authorities were alerted to the incident and the parents now face scrutiny over child endangerment. Arizona has been experiencing punishing summer heat, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F, making such conditions especially dangerous for children exposed for extended periods without adequate precautions.
