Arsenal sign Greece forward Tzolis for £34m

BBC Sport · 3 hours ago

Arsenal have signed Greece international Christos Tzolis from Belgian champions Club Brugge for £34m on a long-term contract, as the Premier League title holders bolster their attack following Leandro Trossard's departure to Besiktas earlier this month. The 24-year-old, described by sporting director Andrea Berta as an "extremely versatile attacking player" comfortable across the frontline, arrives on the back of the best season of his career.

Tzolis, who started out at PAOK, previously spent three underwhelming years at Norwich City between 2021 and 2024, scoring just three goals in 30 appearances, including loan spells at Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf. He rebuilt his reputation at Club Brugge, netting 43 goals and providing 45 assists in 108 appearances, and was directly involved in a league-high 40 goals last season as Brugge won the title, while also topping the division for chances created, progressive carries and successful dribbles. He also impressed in the Champions League, scoring against Atalanta and Atletico Madrid and setting up a goal against Barcelona.
