Drake Landon, a Cineplex employee, has identified himself as the artist behind a viral hand-drawn Spider-Man: Brand New Day poster after being told to remove it. He created the improvised “Spooderman” artwork because the cinema had not received its official promotional material, but Cineplex head office requested its removal, apparently to avoid issues with the studio.

Landon recovered the original poster and says he may sell limited prints or redrawn versions. He said the official materials had reportedly been delivered to the wrong location, while the online attention has also earned him a free stand at a local comic convention; Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains a major box-office success, reportedly on course to pass $2 billion worldwide.
