- One person was critically injured.
- Police searched for a suspect who reportedly fled on foot.

## Summary

A gunman killed at least eight people across three villages near Afyonkarahisar in western Turkey, and one other person was critically injured. The deaths, including those of two teachers, prompted a manhunt and investigations into whether the shootings were connected to an earlier attack in the nearby town.

Two women died after being found shot in Yukaritandir; three more people were found dead in Kiyir and another three in Ayazini. Police found the suspect’s red minivan stuck in mud near Eskisehir, about 100 kilometres north of the shooting sites, and reports said he fled on foot. Authorities said state institutions were coordinating the response.
