## Summary

Newly added reports say the bus was carrying 43 passengers, including 15 minors travelling to school, and that one of the two people killed was an 18-year-old. The crash near Lent in eastern France on Friday left 16 people injured, three critically, and prompted an investigation into homicide by vehicle.

The bus was travelling from Lyon to Bourg-en-Bresse when it left the road and hit a tree in a ditch, according to the mayor. The driver was hospitalised and had not yet been questioned; emergency services deployed dozens of officers, two helicopters and several drones. The incident follows other serious school transport crashes in France, including a 2017 collision that killed six students.
