Best-selling novelist Emily Henry has achieved her first Emmy nomination following the Netflix release of a film adaptation of her popular novel. The streaming adaptation of "People We Meet On Vacation" earned a nomination in the outstanding television movie category for the 2026 Emmy Awards, with Henry credited as an executive producer. The romantic comedy film, directed by Brett Haley and starring Tom Blyth and Emily Bader, chronicles the evolving relationship between two lifelong best friends whose annual vacations serve as the backdrop for their personal development.

Henry's adapted work competes alongside four other films in this year's Emmy category. Several additional book-to-screen projects from her literary portfolio are currently in development, including a film adaptation of her debut novel "Beach Read," which features actors Phoebe Dynevor and Patrick Schwarzenegger alongside Andie MacDowell and Kevin Bacon. The 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will broadcast on 14 September across NBC and Peacock.
