## Summary

Authorities have released the 911 call made by Kaylub Giamanco as he responded to a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon. Giamanco told the operator he had a gun and intended to confront the attacker; moments later, he entered the school and fatally shot the 16-year-old, bringing the attack to an end.

The shooter had killed three children, aged 5, 8 and 11, and a teacher in a special needs classroom, while another student was critically injured and a second teacher was hospitalised. Before Giamanco arrived, teacher Cassidy Schutz had tackled the attacker and struggled for control of his weapon, creating an opportunity for him to fire. Giamanco has said he regrets not arriving in time to save everyone who was killed or hurt.
