## Summary

New York singer-songwriter Ava Franks has teamed up with New Jersey alt-pop band Young Rising Sons on “Sweetless Surrender”, a single combining acoustic guitar with energetic indie rock. The collaboration matters as Franks’s first, bringing together an artist who grew up admiring the band and a group with an established touring and streaming record.

The song opens with a quiet vocal and guitar before building into layered production, driving percussion and a fuller chorus. Franks sings alongside Young Rising Sons frontman Andy Tongren, with the track drawing on 1990s indie rock and pop.
