Avatar Studios brings forward Aang film to July on Paramount+
Paramount has brought forward the release of "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender", the animated film continuing the story of the acclaimed series "Avatar: The Last Airbender". The film will now premiere globally on Paramount+ on 25 July, rather than the previously planned October date, and the studio has accompanied the announcement with a first trailer and first-look images. The move matters as it marks the debut project from Avatar Studios and the latest chapter in a much-loved franchise.
The film's release has shifted several times: it was first due to open in cinemas on 9 October before being reassigned to a direct-to-streaming release in December 2025, and the entire film subsequently leaked online in April, which likely contributed to the decision to speed up its premiere. It will also feature at San Diego Comic-Con in the coming weeks. The voice cast includes Eric Nam as Aang, Dave Bautista as Tagah, Steven Yeun as Zuko and Dionne Quan as Toph, with the story following Aang's global quest to find an ancient power that could save the airbender culture from extinction. Directed by Lauren Montgomery, it is the first release from Avatar Studios, which is also preparing the series "Avatar: Seven Havens" for 2027.
