## Key points

- The animated Avatar film is getting a 4K SteelBook release.
- Its home-release materials reportedly credit the wrong director.
- The SteelBook costs US$45.99 and is due in February 2027.

## Summary

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is getting a 4K UHD SteelBook release after its debut on Paramount+, but promotional materials reportedly misidentified its director as M. Night Shyamalan. The mix-up matters because it appears to confuse the animated film with Shyamalan’s widely criticised 2010 live-action adaptation.

The animated film, directed by Lauren Montgomery, is set between the original series and The Legend of Korra and follows a grown-up Team Avatar. Its SteelBook is available to pre-order for US$45.99 ahead of a 9 February 2027 release; DVD and Blu-ray editions came out on 3 November 2026. The article reports Rotten Tomatoes scores of 90% from critics and 99% from audiences.
