Fading Echo, a new Steam action-adventure game, is being highlighted as a strong alternative for Avatar: The Last Airbender fans who found the recently launched Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game underwhelming or too combat-focused for online play. Developed by Emeteria and starring Samantha Béart, best known as Karlach in Baldur's Gate 3, the game blends Avatar-style elemental manipulation with the visual style and dimension-hopping of the Spider-Verse films, offering a more casual, story-driven adventure rather than competitive fighting.

The game follows a character named One, who lives in a fractured, water-scarce world and can transform between human form and a manipulable water blob. Core gameplay revolves around switching between these forms and combining elemental orbs, such as fire, water and slime, to weaken, freeze or burn enemies, alongside platforming puzzles and dimension-hopping levels with a comic-inspired art style reminiscent of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Although its storytelling is considered a weaker point, the combat and platforming are praised, and the game is now available on Windows PC via Steam.
